XIV INTERNATIONAL AEDyR CONGRESS

"60 años de innovación en desalación y reutilización"

 

Desalination in Spain and the Canary Islands are inextricably linked. Not only because it is currently the Autonomous Community with the largest number of high-capacity desalination plants, or because desalinated water is essential for supplying most of the islands in the archipelago, but also because it was here that the first desalination plant in Spain was installed.

In the spring of 1965, drinking water produced by this first desalination plant began to be supplied to homes in Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote.

Sixty years later, the Canary Islands are a benchmark in the use of desalinated and recycled water, and the experience gained in these six decades has helped to position Spain and its companies as a benchmark in the development of these solutions, innovating and exporting our technology to countries in five continents. On this important date, AEDyR wanted to hold an international congress in the Canary Islands.

The impressive Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava and located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will be the venue for this event, which will bring together national and international experts in desalination, reuse and water treatment from companies throughout the value chain of the sector, public institutions, universities and research centres, with the aim of promoting collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and experience, and where the latest research, innovations and technological advances in these technologies will be presented.

We look forward to welcoming you once again to the most important and influential biennial event on desalination and water reuse in Europe, which for years has been an unmissable event for all people and companies involved in these sectors, both nationally and internationally.

The Preliminary Programme of the Congress structure will be published in the coming weeks and the final programme will be published in mid-April.

The congress will take place on the 24th, 25th and 26th of June, in the morning and afternoon, with the closing dinner and the award ceremony of the 2nd INTERNATIONAL AEDyR AWARDS on the 26th.

    If the participant wishes to bring a companion to the Gala Dinner, he/she must purchase an additional ticket at a cost of 195 euros + VAT. This ticket does not provide access to the technical sessions of the event.

    If the participant wishes to bring a companion to the excursion and also to the Gala Dinner, he/she must purchase an additional ticket with a cost of 325euros + VAT. This ticket does not give access to the technical sessions of the event.

    CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION AND CHANGE OF HOLDER

    AEDyR reminds you that registration for our congress is personal. If you are unable to attend, you have the option of having someone else take your place. To cancel your attendance, please notify us at least 10 working days before the start of the event. After this period, the registration fee will not be refunded. AEDyR reminds you that entry to the event is only guaranteed if payment is made before the event date. Up to 5 days before the event, AEDyR reserves the right to change the date of the congress or to cancel it. In such cases, the amount paid will be refunded. Under no circumstances will AEDyR be responsible for any travel or accommodation expenses incurred by the attendee.

    VENUE

    The Tenerife Auditorium building was inaugurated in 2003 and since then has hosted thousands of artistic performances of the highest national and international level.

    It is an avant-garde work of the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, covering 23,000 square metres, which combines the spectacular nature of a unique building enveloped in the brilliant white of the trencadís technique (irregular pieces of tile arranged like a mosaic) with a large square and the immense Atlantic sea behind it.
